calcium chloride

Calcium chloride, a salt made of chlorine and calcium. It's bitter, it's tasteless. It is a typical ionic halide, which is white,
hard, or granule at room temperature.Compound Calcium Chloride, chemical formula CaCl2 has long been the main ingredient and backbone of quality high performance de-icing agents.

Because the reaction that produces CaCl2 brine actually releases heat, making calcium chloride a more effective ice melter than traditional rock salt, the use of our dry calcium chloride for snow and ice removal, anti-icing applications in advance of snow events, to prevent snow and ice from freezing on surfaces, and with road salt catalysts used to remove "hard pack".It is commonly used in the use of refrigeration equipment used in brine, road melting and desiccant.

Advantages of using calcium chloride flakes and granules for dust suppression

Calcium chloride is the product of choice for road dust control. Why? For a number of reasons.
Calcium chloride is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture from the air and surrounding environment. This keeps unpaved surfaces moist and dusty.
Calcium chloride also resists evaporation, so a single application provides ongoing benefits.
Calcium chloride's thirst for moisture helps bind the aggregated particles together. Unpaved surfaces become and remain compacted, and over time, chemicals penetrate the surface, increasing the stabilizing effect to reduce frost damage and overall wear.
Maintenance costs for roads treated with calcium chloride are much lower than for untreated roads.
Dried CaCl2 in flake and granular form works well in most existing equipment that is used to spread sand and salt products during the winter months. For many years, New England townships have used CaCl2 to manage unpaved surfaces, including dirt roads and parking lots. This cost-effective process reduces the amount of labor required to maintain unpaved surfaces that would typically require grading and rolling multiple times a year if calcium were not applied. Our most popular calcium chloride drying products for dust management are our Super Sacks and 50 lb. bags of calcium chloride flakes, as well as our calcium chloride granules.
Whether building new roads or rehabilitating existing ones, simply spreading calcium chloride on the surface or using it in full depth reclamation techniques, calcium chloride is the dust control material of choice.

Storage:
